UPDATES
Dec 3rd: "GOOD
NEWS! It appears as if Raven is currently cancer free! She will have to
have several scans over the next year to make sure that none of it
returns. Her central line will be removed next Friday. Thanks to
everyone for all the prayers, thoughts, energy, time and donations.
Everything has been appreciated!" --- CassieNov 30th: Cassie
and Raven will be heading up to UVA tomorrow morning for follow up
tests. They will be there until Friday. Cassie's doctor told her that
she could go into labor anytime now and a 2 1/2 hour trip is not going
to help the situation. For those of you who donated before, if you
feel that you could please continue to donated. For those who haven't
please consider a donation to help this family out. They are up against
some very hard circumstances right now and could use all the help they
can get.Nov 28th: Raven
is back home after mommy having a 4 day break while she stayed with
Nanny. Sometimes a break is what you need when dealing with a sick
kiddo. We took her off the pain meds today and she is acting a little
more like herself thank goodness. She is even refusing Tylenol.
Hopefully this is a good sign...back to UVA Wednesday through Friday.
Nov 21st: well,
Raven as well as the rest of the family is at home for some real sleep
in our own beds! She is already asleep and I'm still up worrying whether
or not she will wake up and forget she has trouble walking and fall.
Hopefully we can keep her pain under control. Follow up appointments
start in two weeks and hopefully... all the cancer is gone! Thanks again
to everyone.Nov 16th: Raven went
into surgery at 12:55. A tumor from the right adrenal gland, bladder, and one from the spine
have been removed and they were moving to the left side to remove the
other three. Vitals are good, and they are giving her one unit of blood
just to be on the safe side.
Raven
has been out of surgery for a while. She has settled in in the
Pediatric ICU for the night and is doing well. Doctor is pleased with
the surgery and should be making rounds soon. She is still sleeping, but
needs it. Already asked if she can get up, but went back to sleep. |
